Tom and Jerrys-Warm up a cup of milk, pour 2 jiggers Korbel brandy, one jigger of Bicardi rum, top it with Tom and Jerry batter, sprinkle top with nutmeg. Some people like warm water instead of milk, I think it’s smoother with milk. A couple of these, and you can go ice fishin in your skivvies

i like the apple pie moonshine, but for us Minnesotans that are not priveledged to buy everclear, bacardi 151 works good too! and dont be stingy with the cinnamon sticks, i use a whole jar (8 or so). its best served cold, but warmed up after a big day on the ice is real nice too!

also, heres a slightly different recipe for baileys, my aunt makes, oh man is it good!!! i request a bottle just for myself!

    IRISH CREAM
    2 eggs–beat
    2 cans sweetened condensed milk
    1 quart half&half
    4 Tbs. chocolate syrup
    1/2 quart blended whisky
    a little vanilla
    blend well in blender

I just mixed up a batch of this at a cost of around $8/quart. Heck of a lot cheaper than the store bought Bailey’s.

I’m putting a small bottle (20 oz) in the freezer. I think the FW will like this as a bed time snack!

Mine is pretty much the same except no coffee and an extra 1/3 Whiskey!

    Homemade Irish Cream
    from Chef Philip Dorwart

1 cup light cream (Half & Half will do)
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (usually one can)
2 cups Irish Whiskey – Jameson, of course!
    2 tsp Chocolate syrup
    1 tsp Vanilla extract
    1 tsp Almond extract

    Blend and serve!

I am kind of a Irish Cream snob, if I may say. I can only drink Baileys, as the rest I don’t find even half as palatable. I mixed this batch up last year and I tell you what, for a little work you get a comparable Irish Cream at a fraction of the cost.

    Big Hunter,

No problem getting Everclear here in MN, 151 proof though, not the good 190 proof. I use it for homemade schnapps. Super easy:

    Homemade Schnapps
    10 c water
    4 c sugar
1 oz extract (rootbeer, mint (just like doublemint gum), peppermint
    1 bottle Everclear

Bring water and sugar to a boil and stir until clear. Let cool and add extract and everclear. Enjoy!

I keep it in the freezer of the garage fridge yearound. Fantastic cold.

No they can’t (I am sure some do, but good luck finding out about it) 151 is the strongest you can get in MN. Although a short drive over the river and you can get 190 Proof

THANK YOU THANK YOU for the apple pie recipe!! We have a buddy who always brings some but won’t share anything about how it’s made. I can’t wait to offer my own.

Uh….are you sure it’s a WHOLE freakin quart??

So, I made a batch today, and now I’m making another just to thin it down. Ya, I might sound like a wimp, but if you’re putting a whole quart of everclear (190 proof) in to just one of those batches, there’s no way you’re finding your fish house!!

You usually serve this hot or cold?

I usually have it on ice.

A buddy that was over to my house for New Years suggested we try it over ice cream.

One of my favs lately has been carrot cakes.
One shot each of buttershots and irish cream, just a splash of hot damn, and then fill the rest up with milk or a milk/half n half mix. Damn tasty.
