Any of the General Admission shows at the old St Paul Civic Center from about 1977-to 1981. Tickets were rarely over ten bucks and that got you front row after a short wrestling match. Ted Nugent usually did 2 shows a year. Swinging off the amps on a rope wearing only a loin cloth! Alice Cooper and the guillotine/snake act was memorable. Van Halen, Rush, Nazereth, Kiss, Aerosmith all hit the CC at least once a year back then. All great shows!

Greatfull Dead / Petty at the dome. Also saw the Rolling Stones there. Good show, not the best sound.

Saw Cheap Trick in Japan. They were very popular over there in 1981!

Best Sounding concert was the Alan Parson Project at the auditorium on St Catherines campus.

Thought the Eagles at the Met was not that great. Not too impressed with Led Zepplin show either. Saw Van Halen in California where Dave was too F’ed up to remember the lyrics. Never have walked out of a show however!

Midway Stadium, 1978 or 1979. Beach Boys, Iron Horse (Randy Bachman from BTO), Amazing Rhythum Aces,Jay Ferguson, and another group that I can’t remember. About 90 degrees, and perfect scenery. This was back before I even knew what a designated driver was. Started early afternoon and the Beach Boys quit way after dark. Got there early and thought it would be a bust. Nobody there. We sat up front and center and after looking back a couple hours later, the place was packed. Fun day.

Saw Creed/Sevendust and Dave Mathews Band at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, IA while in college. Even bought the gf, now wife, tickets to the Dixie Chicks, that one wasnt my cup of tea.

Best one was last year. My dad gave me free tickets to Foreigner at Treasure Island. Those old boys can jam!

Too many to pick just one, My first concert/big dance was Sam the Sham and the Pharohs. I saw Bo Diddly, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry at the Fillmore East. The show at the Midway with Bonnie and Delaney and Friends [Eric Clapton] and Muddy Waters was great. The Dead at the Met was the quentisential 60’s experience. and although not rock & roll Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic at Dripping Springs was the best for all round fun!

Too many to pick just one.

1970..Derek and the Dominos..Tampa Fl. One of only 2 shows that Duane Allman performed with the band live.

1974..Charlotte NC. All day outdoor concert with many groups still in their infancy….Charlie Danials Band, Kiss, Marshal Tucker, Atomic Rooster and more that I just can’t remember.

1976.. Savannah GA…Poco Harem opened for YES. Great sound and lights.

197??..Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band…Born to Run tour.

    1978(?) Eagles…Hotel California tour

And last but not least, the very first concert I ever went to, and only because my sister had to take me and my 2 brothers since she was supposed to baby sit us that night…. The Beatles..1964..Met Stadium…Bloomington, MN. I hardly watched the band because I thought it was so funny seeing all those girls pulling their hair out and screaming like there was no tomorrow.

Woodstock I wish but I played the album til the records were wore out.

I saw Ted several times at a little hall in Kansas City, KS called Memorial Hall that seated about 600 or 800 people. They were all good concerts and like some said my hearing was not very good for days after those concerts.

I saw Elton John at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO. In 1972 the openers were REO Speed wagon and a little known back up band called ZZ Top.

But my favorite of all time was Emerson Lake and Palmer. I don’t remember who opened and after their show there is no way you could have. We took the paper out of a Cheech and Chong Big Bamboo album and added a lid of some Pan Red with a few stamps. I was carring it in walking up one of the ramps, it fell out of my sleeve and started rolling down the ramp, people got a little wide eyed when they saw it. Of course maybe it was the hooch we smoked that is affecting my memory today. The year was 1973 I think. That was the first time I heard any of their music and that moog synthesizer was awesome.

But we kept our clothes on unlike some others.
