Seeing as the “Greatest rock n roll band” post was such a hit I thought I would start a new one. What was your favorite rock concert of all time. Mine was in 1978 at the old Met Stadium, Pablo Cruise, Steve Miller, & The Eagles all in one night that was one heck of a concert. I do not remember the name of the tour, anyone else here that went to that concert that might remember the name of the tour?

I remember the concert. My older brother went to it. I was a little to young to go and enjoy all the second hand smoke
I did catch Ted Nugent and 707 in ’81 at the met. Ted was Ted and it was good.
My favorite was The Replacements at The Orpheum in I want to say ’90. The Gear Daddies I believe opened. Me and a bud just decided to drive down there and buy tickets from a scalper. We got in and saw what was one of the last concerts these guys ever did.

December 9, 2009 at 2:41 am #821692Seen ALOT of good ones in the 80’s, but this one sticks out…. 1987 Alice Cooper’s The Nightmare Continues Tour….. no idea who the warm up band was, until they hit the MN scene about a week before the concert…it was a band called Gun’s & Roses

Sly and the family Stone, seen them twice, once was a disaster as Sly was drunk or drugged to the point he couldn’t funtion and once when they all cooked.
That was a good concert.Al

Chicago, Doobie Brothers, and kansasDecember 9, 2009 at 2:49 pm #821878RUSH. 77 or 78 The Palladium NYC. Best light show I have ever seen!
December 9, 2009 at 3:03 pm #821885The Ramones, here in the basement at the Longhorn. It was before anyone around here knew who they were. I got a test pressing from my cousin who worked for the label and I got in free since nobody from the record company wanted to go. Met the band and got to drink a beer with them before the show. Being a dumb kid, I played the album until it wore out and then bought one. Shoulda kept the damn thing in storage. Ah, well.

That would have been awesome! Ramones were one of the best bands ever and that test pressing would be worth at least 500 bucks these days if not more. Did you see any other good punk shows at the Longhorn or Goofy’s back in those days?December 9, 2009 at 6:07 pm #821954Van Halen and Journey

She didnt have a skirt to lift when I seen her. Not much left open for the imagination!Which reminds me of another very memorable concert.Iowa Jam Fest DesMoines Early 80’s Nuge was on stage & had a couple gals remove their shirts. He brought them up on stage for props. He would jam for a while then reach over & tune them in while jamming to Cat Scratch Fever. He looked like he was really enjoying upping their volume!
