Seen this in the St. Paul P.P.

    A bounty on carp
While I agree the asian carp must be eradicated, as usual, we are going about it the wrong way (“Carp Ahoy,”Nov 27).
Instead of wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on endless studies, iron gates, nets, ect., the most simple and effective measure should be used: Set up a bounty system on asian carp. By making these destructive fish worth money, humans would wipe them out in a fraction of the time and expense of all the ineffective, expensive studies and measures taken so far.
As an added benefit, thousands of fishermen (carp hunters!)
would have a chance to earn a few extra bucks in this down economy.

Sounds like fun, but I highly doubt that would do anything to stop expansion and probably wouldn’t put a dent in the population.

hey now come on bret when that deer goes behind the tree and comes in to view again thats deer #2 and when it heads behind the bush and appears again well that would be deer #3 and so on and so on. The dnr is never wrong just like there is only 200 pair of wolves in Wi.

You are correct in my mind. Half of the people i Know cuold make money while enjoying a past time. Not sophisticated enough though to try and get a tenth rated citizen (politician) to support such a bill.
