Canadian pleasure craft operators card

    Wondering if anyone has heard about this? The law states that all canadian boaters now need to have their pleasure Craft operators card(boating licence)or risk expensive fines.($250. or more) This law was effective Sept. 15th 2009
    Does this include us from the US, who fish over the border? Anyone heard about this??

    I don’t have time to do a google search, but I believe we have 45 days before us aliens need one. Don’t take my word for it though!

    This peaked my interest and I had to find the answer. Looks like you only need the card if you are a non-resident operating for more than 44 consecutive days.

    I think you need to keep your boat in Canada for 45 days before you need the Canadian Training. I have the MN certificate on me when in Canada and that is all you need to be legal. The Canadien class is available online if you want to take it.
