Have any of you used 3-way rigs with rapalas on lakes?

I have, but without the current to deal with, lead core would work much better.

I used to use 3-ways, but Joel Ballweg convinced me to switch to running heavy bottom bouncers. I’m not sure the success rate is much better, but they are certainly less prone to tangles and such. I do use leadcore most of the time though when I can.

I’ve found this also to be true using bottom bouncers. I actually like how its easier to stay in the strike zone with bouncers than with leadcore for me.

I like the idea of keeping it simple, how heavy of bottom bouncers do you use and do they work on the river?

I carry an array of bouncers from 1/4 to 4 ounces. Pulling stick baits in a lake I will run anywhere from 1 to 3 ounces depending on depth and speed.

Last spring on P4, we did well pulling 3 oz bouncers with stick baits. It was the only thing consistently putting fish in the boat the week we were there, so I would say that yes, they do work in rivers.
