Please help us welcome 3 new members to our Field Staff team!
In no particular order…
Adam Adler
We’re pleased to announce the addition of Adam Adler to our ever-growing Field Staff team. Adam is an experienced guide on Mille Lacs Lake and partners with existing staffers Scott Steil and Derek Johnston. His photography and writing skills are excellent so we can all look forward to some great info and reputable reports from his travels.
A bit more about Adam, in his own words…
“I grew up on a lake in Northeastern Wisconsin and started fishing there. I moved to St. Cloud, MN to attend St. Cloud State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree. Throughout college I arranged many fishing trips for friends and family, which branched into a small guide service. Derek Johnston, Scott Steil, and I joined forces to form Mille Lacs Guide Service. I guide year-round on Mille Lacs and other bodies of water. I am a tournament fisherman, and last year I fished the MWC, WWA, and MTT. I am currently 25, have a beautiful, yet understanding wife, and a two-year old black lab.
Tom Sawvell
Tom Sawvell, A.K.A. Crappie Tom, is an experienced angler from the Rochester area with decades of experience fishing many of the local bodies of water. As his name would lead you to believe, Tom is a crappie specialist but he is also well-versed with a multitude of other species. His primary focus will be to provide timely info regarding the fishing on Lake Zumbro and the other local bodies of water.
A bit more about Tom, in his own words…
“I am 53 years of age, a lifelong resident of Rochester and have fished, quite frankly, everywhere one can fish from the Whitman Dam to the Red Wing Dam; Lake Zumbro -extensively; the Zumbro River system, some of the Root River system and at one time or another, every creek, pond, reservoir around Rochester. My forte is in the crappie world, followed by walleye/sauger and then the panfish. I am a stern devotee of plastics and advocate thier use instead of live bait with the exception of waxies. I journal my Crappie fishing in the spring months and have done so for over twenty years. I am a staunch believer in eating fish, but keeping only what one can eat at a time and rigidly practice selective harvest. I grew up with a father and had to learn how to fish on my own. I have had a rod since the age of eight when an uncle gave me an old one he no longer used. Today I build rods, have a jig making business, make custom arrows, actively hunt deer and turkey-even make my own sausage and jerky, but mostly am a carpenter who is self employed. College was spent in the sciences and psychs. I do some guiding on Lake Zumbro. In the winter months I spend as much time at the Red Wing Dam as possible and when the weather will not permit that, I ice fish locally. As soon as there is a natural hole in the ice large enough to cast into on Lake Zumbro, I fish crappies until the end of thier spawn.
Brian Amundson
Brian Amundson, A.K.A. The Guide, has been supplying fishing reports and condition information for lakes in SE MN for several months now and has been doing an excellent job over on the lake side of the web site. His focus will be on lakes in the Rice County Lakes/Longville Area (Wabedo Lake).
A bit more about Brian, in his own words…
“I am a Senior in College in Menomonie, WI. Over the last four years I have gotten extremely interested, borderline obessed with Walleye fishing and Walleye seasonal patterns. I spend approximately four days a week fishing in the summer months and I go out every weekend during the school year. My ultimate goal is to become an In-Depthangling.com Pro-Staffer and a professional guide. After this has been accomplished I hope to make both educational fishing video’s and research books. I have grown up watching and listening to the extensive works by Al Lindner and the rest of the In-Fisherman team. I want to give back to the fishing community information in the same way that Al Lindner has provided information to me. Fishing is not just something that I do for fun, it has become my life and I love to teach fishing to just about anyone that will listen to new strategies and ideas.
Join with us in welcoming these talented anglers to In-Depthangling.com! I’m certain their experiences and information will be an asset to the website and we look forward to a long and successful future together with these newest additions along for the ride.
Welcome guys!
