Packers/Vikings………. Who Will Win At Lambeau?

The Viking lines completely dominated on both sides of the football. I dont see the weather impacting them enough to for the Packers to complete. As always, they will have to get some Antonio Freeman style lucky bounces to win. Percy Harvin will have a monster day.

If our Dline can get enough pressure with 4 guys(which they should with how poorly the GB O line has been playing), then I like our chances. What is the record for sacks in a game. I hope we break it this weekend.

Wow, only Tuesday and the bashing has begun. Not that big of a game is it?

this is going to be a great game no doubt. it’s just that I don’t think Minny’s d line is going to play as fast on natural turf. that whole team is designed to play indoors on turf. the game being in GB levels the playing field a bit.

    A couple things here.

    1. The Vikings lead the league in sacks. The Packers are on pace to give up a league record sacks this year.

    Advantage….Vikings

    2. Natural grass will negate the Vikings speed since they are built to play indoors. Not so at all. If you look at Kevin and Pat Williams, you’d know they are not “speed” players, and with their size, they are not going to be moved off the line on any surface.

    Advantage……Vikings, again.

    3. I heard reported that Green Bay went out and resigned Ahman Green. That along with begging Tauscher out of retirement pretty much sums up the Packers need to develope some sort of running game, because they do not have one, meaning they have to pass the ball, which brings up what I said already. (Refer to point #1)

    Advantage……Vikings again

    4. The Favre -v- Rogers match up. What can Rogers do that Favre can’t? What has Rogers done that Favre hasn’t done already, many times over? Lastly, as Tuckner has already pointed out, Favre knows how to play and win in Lamblow, in those weather conditions. He’s done it how many times?

    Advantage…..Vikings

    5. Last but not least, and I know this is going to really hurt you Packer fans. Coaching.

    Advantage……Yes, Vikings again!!

    6. Because it will be such an emotional moment at games end after beating his former team for the second time this year, Brett Favre will break into tears during his many post game interveiws with the local media.

Packers are number 8 in offense. Vikings are number 12.

Rogers has a better qb rating than Favre.

McCarthy’s record against Childress is far superior.

take off the purple glasses dude.

Scotty Wells pretty much shut Pat Williams out the first game.

Allen is a monster no doubt. he will have to be dealt with. They brought Green back more for depth and blocking ability

No matter what we say here… or the fact that NFL defense stats having “special team” stats in it…. (thats why sacks & tackles are more pertinent than yardage or point stats for a defense… they are watered down) doesn’t mean a hill of beans come monday. We will see who is spouting then…. I am confident I will be here…. will you ???

Go ahead and hang your hat on sacks if you think it is more important than points allowed. See you Monday.

The only team to beat the Vikings did so with a great pass rush. I don’t see the Pack getting to Favre and he’ll end up picking apart the Packers D.

Harvin will be the difference maker!

I’m looking forward to a great game!

You might recall an idiot named Mike Sherman who ran the franchise into the ground as coach and GM. He gave out insane contracts to overrated players that handcuffed the team. I didn’t say we wanted to remain the youngest team in the league. This is an awesome position to be in moving forward. We are currently competitive, young so we don’t have many players going anywhere soon, under the cap so we can sign areas of need such as the o line next season.

By the way to the genius who said we had to beg Tauscher out of retirement. He never retired. He tore his ACL last season and it just happened to be the last year of his contract so they Packers waited to see how well he recovered before re-signing him. He just was cleared to play, that is why they waited to sign him. They were probably also hoping to not have to sign him and save money with younger players. That obviously didn’t work so well.

I better throw my 2 cents in here. Since I am a die hard Viking fan, the Purple kool aid is always flowing. I thought the Vikes played a heck of a game against the Steelers last weekend. A few to many bad breaks cost them the game, some questionable calls on both sides of the ball didn’t help. But that’s the way it goes.

Sunday should be a great game. I think Favre will step up and have a solid game. Harvin and Shank need to hold onto the ball this week. To many drops against the Steelers. Peterson should have a good game, he is due for 150+ yards on the ground.

Allen and the William brothers could have a field day against the Packers offensive line. I am sure Green Bay is stressing pass protection this week. They aren’t playing the Browns Sunday, so they better be ready.

    Vikings – 31
    Packers – 17

    Skol Vikes!!

    salient points Deano.
these teams are almost identical. home field/turnovers is going to play huge this week just like it did in the first meeting. I’m a little concerned about our red zone offense vs the Vike defense. we will score long and often…

As a Vikings fan, I’d like to propose that Kooty no longer speaks for the rest of us!!

Seriously dude, those were the three worst Viking videos I’ve ever seen.

Vikes still win 77-0 but come on!

Ask Rogers if sacks matter…..??? Points allowed don’t mean squat, when you score at least 1 more than the other team…. seems we did that last time ??? See you Monday

I hate to ever admit I agree with big g but I do. The last two games the Packers played they gave up 6 points. The opponents: Lions and Browns. So it is pretty safe to say that stat is slanted a bit. It will be a tough game, if the Packers cannot protect Rodgers the Vikings will win no matter what, we will see what the Packers coaching staff learned from the last time they played the Vikings. 24-23 Packers

This is fun. Vikes also played both if those teams and gave up more than 6. Tells you nothing but we were better against like opponents.

SteveO….Love ya like a brutha…But really?? Name two running backs on the pack that are = to Peterson and Taylor. Tight ends, Vikes win…the only place I think we are even is the receiving corps. Most of the cold games I have seen (On TV) in Lambeau was when Rodgers was on the side lines in the hand muffs while his mentor #4 was out playing in it. Remember also that GB’s defense has to defend on natural turf. Does that mean they are “Designed” to play on natural turf?
Anyways, I hope Rodgers does well. He has been making me a boatload of Fantasy points every Sunday passing because they have no running game. I just hope it’s not a blow out either way. I would love to see a good hard faught game.

    Passing Yards
    Aaron Rodgers GB 384 yds
    Brett Favre Min 271 yds

    Rushing Yards
    Ryan Grant GB 51 yds
    Adrian Peterson Min 55 yds

    Receiving Yards
    Jermichael Finley GB 128 yds
    Bernard Berrian Min 75 yds

Well I hate to break it to all you Viking fans but…the only reason you guys won last time is your pro bowl Jared Allen up against our rookie left tackle. You can bet that won’t be the same game this time. Clifton will be back at his post and Allen won’t fair so well this time. And I sure hope AP has a few more yards to take the load off Brent, we all know what happens when he plays from behind. Oh yeah and your best DB is hurt I hear? Must be your turn to put a rookie on the field! Rodgers had 384 yards last time, you’d better hope that isn’t the case this time. The only way the Queens win is if their D gives Brent 20 and 30 yard fields

With your analogy then this should cinch the decision for you…how did the Fudgepackers do against, lets not say “like opponents” but “THE OPPONENTS”… Brett Favre and his Vikings last go around…..

Your right !!! This is FUN

I know I know! He sets the record for come from behind wins? I think he is at 41 right now. Most QBs never even play in 41 NFL games much less come from behind and win in that many, lol.

    Tuck
these teams are very, very close to each other. Vikes pass rush is superior. I will give you that. Peterson is a monster but has been fairly benign this year especially the first game against the Pack.. Grant is statiscally behind AP but not by much. I don’t know if Clifton will play this game or not. When healthy he has owned mullet boy dating back to his KC days.
Vikes are a .500 club outdoors. Yeah, I know one game was against Cleveland but they laid 20 points on you. We held them to three. Cleveland was the first game on your schedule and the weather was good.
aside from sacks the Packers are a better defense without a doubt.
Vikes have a win against us. That is indisputable. Pack wins and there in essentially a tie for the Norris.
I don’t know what the heck will happen except it’s going to be a GREAT game and I don’t see the Vikes winning.

NFC North is a two team race. Chicago is decimated at LB and Detroit is a non factor. Just the way I like it.

    Passing week 4

    Rogers = 2 TD’s 1 INT
    Favre = 3 TD’s 0 INT

Score before Vikings went into “prevent” = 28-14….. if the Vikings have a weakness (have for years) it is playing to the level and maybe below the opponent the last quarter I cringe when I have to watch Brett watch it too… He is and always will be a warrior
