No kidding. That many grouse don’t come easy. How’s the numbers this fall? I haven’t been keeping tabs on the cycle.

Pockets good and pockets bad, at least over here in northern WI. I have had a couple of real good days, but hate to burn a spot real fast so haven’t been back to check them out. Been getting my little lab out and going places that have hopefully some grouse and few ticks… that means north of Minocqua

Birds were spotty – had to find the best cover. No trail walking – lots of brush busting with good dogs. It also helps that my buddy is a “sharp shooter”. We have been chasing pointing dogs through the woods for years.

The key is to get off the trails and follow the dogs.

    Lots of ticks this year.
