Just curious — Is an electric “car” like the bad boy buggie considered “motorized”?? When I think motorized I think of combustion engine…

I’m guessing so. We’ve all heard the stories of buys getting a DUI while driving a golf cart(which could have either engine of course).
I know I’m darn glad we don’t have anyone patroling our golf course on Thursday nights during mens league.

In Minnesota, any motor – electric or otherwise. Also just in from the state where nothing is allowed. Police can now seize your bong water, weight it and charge you with possession of a controlled substance in the weight of the water! Minnesota better spend that stimulus money on a few new jails!

people’s “rights” that prevent us from doing our jobs effectively.
The rights are there to keep those in authoratative positions, the few bad apples, from abusing their power.
There are abuses on both sides of the equation and that’s why we have the checks and balances, if we didn’t need them, we wouldn’t have them.
This guy got what he deserved AND it’s hilarious. The judge will see that he had less potential to hurt and judge accordingly. Hopefully it will be fair.
October 23, 2009 at 8:15 pm #811165I am still sticking to my original post. This was such a waste of time for the cops. But now they get to have pictures of themselves all over the news with this chair, so that makes it worth it. I am not saying that I do not respect the cops. I do think that drinking and driving is wrong. I have had two family members killed by drunk drivers and also other friends.
But what I am trying to say is how many drunk drivers that were driving a vehicle that could have killed many made it home because the cops were messing around with this guy. That is why I think it is ridiculous. There are more important things for cops to do than give this guy a DUI.
October 23, 2009 at 8:24 pm #811169Tell you what, stand in a road blindfolded, let this guy get going 20 mph at .29 BAC and let him make a run at you, if you trust that he will miss you, then I agree with you.
October 23, 2009 at 8:29 pm #811172Why would i be standing in the road blind folded?? I have cat like reflexes, so there is little chance of ever hitting me.

But what if you were drunk too, on meth and riding a Segway?

how great would one of those be for ice fishing when there isn’t much snow? Pull a sled with an auger and one of those bigger hub style houses, best seat in the house!

Starting to get a little out there to make a point. Why would anyone stand in the middle of the road blindfolded.
October 24, 2009 at 3:47 am #811286You dont think a guy who cant walk driving a motorized chair poses any threat to anyone’s safety, so you have nothing to worry about, right?
October 24, 2009 at 8:30 am #811292No. I’m guessing he walked just fine to that motorized vehicle. No different than a car/truck/semi….
you know i’m just screwin’ around.
