Have a question on paints…..Water based paints ok to use with lures in the water? Not wanting to work my off and have them reeled in unpainted when I am done! just curious if there is any prep work needed before hand. I know I made the mistake of thinning the water based paint with water last night so round 2 tonight.
Wondering if I need to thin the Createx paint with alcohol based thinner or do I go straight paint? had a clogging issue last night with straight paint.

Createx Paints are go out of the bottle. They can be thinned to give transparent effects. Best done by using their reducer. Clogging problems can be related to air brush adjustments and or compressor pressure adjustments.
Acryllic Paints have to be clear coated. All paints that
are air brushed should be as paint layer is so thin that it scratches easily even lacquers. Acryillics should be heat set between coats. Common clear coats are Flex Coat and
Evriotech. They can be brushed on and rotated or thinnned and sprayed. All painting apps require good ventilation.

In my younger years I used to build a lot of plastic models and had a ton of paint laying around so when I had a couple Shad Raps get beat up at Devils Lake this year I roughed them up a bit with wet dry paper and then got out paint. I used testors model master enamels and acrylics. I used the testors thinners for each paint and I thought the results were pretty good.

I used Minwax rattle can clear coat over the paint. So far the baits have only been used part of one season on trips to Lake Wisconsin and Pool 9. I have caught about 10-12 fish mostly bass on my attempt at firetiger perch.

One is long gone bit off by something.
