Close Archery Shots

I managed to land a very close shot on a fairly good sized doe yesterday evening. We guessed the deer to weigh 140-150. But at 2 yards, and hunting on the ground, my heart was racing like she was a 180″ buck.
Normally I like to wait until muzzleloader to take a doe, but this group of deer had me pumped.
The only downside was she was too close for me to use my new range finder.

shot one Sunday night at 7 steps out my ground blind and had the same feeling….I haven’t hunted off the ground in years but the knee injury limits me to it. She walked in and at 10 yds had a stare down and she crept closer to 7 and THWACK!!! I was shaking like crazy after just because of the close encounter more than anything I believe! Nice work though 2 yds is unreal!
