Just wondering if the leaves are at their peak yet? Not sure how accurate the DNR website is. Maybe another week yet? Lake Pepin and Red Wing area specifically.

    Thanks!

Our news report (in Iowa) said that area is near peak (whatever that means).

Was just out on lake pepin today and would say the leaves are not at their peak yet but did see alot of color. I would guess by next weekend they should be brighter and more colorful.

I was expecting a purple cracker or something.

Just drove to Cedar Rapids and back yesterday. The Rochester area is looking pretty cool right now..and the Vasa Valley is beautiful!!! If I was taking the little woman for a leaf watching trip I would plan a route through the Vasa Valley, through Red Wing…Richard Doerer State Park and back through Wabasha. This will be the weekend I believe..

yes, pool 4 colors in full swing: purple cracker, firecracker-char., stewart’s pro blue, char. pepper–now those are pool 4 colors.
    leaves seem half there.

You were in Cedar Rapids yesterday? You should have sent me a PM, I was out fishing and caught quite the dandy wally;) Yeah, here in Iowa, our leaves are just starting. I personally like to head home for the leaves. Up along pool 11, the bluffs look so beautiful when the trees get that yellow-orange-red look. As you head down into Guttenberg to go catch some hogzilla eyes, the view is just breathtaking. Man, I love the fall!
