just wanted to post up some pics of the custom ice rods i had made for the groomsmen in my wedding 9/19. i had to wait until after the wedding, as one of the guys is a member on this site.

st croix blanks. medium, Extra Fast
Buckthorn handles, hand turned and laser engraved.
he also wrapped the guides on himself.

i forget what kind of wood the grunt tubes were made out of. and they are adjustable from a young to old buck. he also turned and finished the barrels himself from wood stock.

these were made by Mike Stelzner, who owns/operates C&S Custom Calls in Zumbrota.

I know BrianK wanted to see the finished product, and thought maybe some of you guys might be interested.

Hey Perch I’m getting married next year. Could you send me his info? What do they run to have one made?

his contact info is on his website.

best is just to contact him about the price. cause it can fluctuate depending on the prices of the blanks at that time, wood, etc.

plus, i think he cut me a break on the price due to purchasing so much from him this year, so i don’t want to stick my foot in my mouth on this.

they are very affordable though. just a little more then the typical “things remembered” gifts that most people get.

Those are nice. I feel cheated, I gave my daughter away a few weeks ago and didn’t get anything for her. Well I guess I got a son in law out of the deal.

Congratulations to you and your wife.

    thanks for the wishes everyone!

i’m going to have him make me some open water rods for next year. he can put a st croix blank on a custom wood handle for less then $100. the only problem i see, is actually taking it out of the house and using it…

Congrats Perch and very nice gifts! The personal touches were great. Your groomsmen will appreciate having something they can use instead of just sitting around the house.

Way cool! I went to a wedding that same day, the groomsmen got DAS BOOT (i.e. beerfest – glass boots)… I thought that was cool too.

    Nice work!!
