I think this is still AP’s team, unless we need Favre to do what he did yesterday. Good chance he will throw a few more picks and lose a game or two doing so,,maybe even one to end the season,,, BUT LETS ALL REMEMBER WHY WE BROUGHT HIM HERE……………………………….He gives us a better chance to win than what we had available! Yesterday showed us that. NO way Tjack or Sage could have made that throw or put together that drive.

He seems to be the heir apparent. (I assume you are referring to the Favre “Love Fest?”)
He goes a “Bit” overboard, doesn’t he?
NFL Network on Sirius loves his sound bites.

Did he say the word “Favre-a-licious”?

September 28, 2009 at 5:54 pm #760641The biggest thing we lost in GB was the never say die player who HATES losing. He will do anything to win, never quits and is willing to throw the ball and let his players go get it. Sure, sometimes it doesn’t work, but too many times, it does. Babe Ruth may have the record for strike outs, but he also had the record for home runs.
Favre has said in the past he will throw the ball and expects his recievers to go get it and make the play–they are 50% and he treats everybody fairly–heck, he even takes the blame when the game goes sour, never blaming his teammates nor coaches.
Yes, Viqueen fans might be the most neurotic, blonde pigtail wearing bunch of purple bandwagoneers that have ever walked the earth, but they do now have the best QB that still is in the game. When he does not want to quit nor lose, the rest feed off of his confidence and play to the end as well.
Once again, Ted Thompson—-shame, shame, shame.
So, for all whom wanted Rogers, I hope he does the job, cause Teddy gave you what you wished for. That last throw was Brett being Brett–once again winning the game. Seeing it in purple is like rotting in hell with skunked beer and rotten cheese.

Bring back Jesse!!!! Bring back Jesse!!!!!
September 28, 2009 at 6:02 pm #758898I saw an AMAZING catch by Greg Lewis. Who is this other guy you keep taking about?

Sounds right to me! EFF Teddy! He single handedly RUINED my image of an organization, until hes gone I don’t give a rats arse!September 28, 2009 at 6:19 pm #757635Quote:

Absolutely correct on the first part! To answer the second part is easy. Brett Favre. The guy who DIDN’T get sacked and made a throw that NEITHER of the other QBs on that team have proven they could. But enough kudos to Favre, the catch was also fantastic!

Oh soooooooo true!!! I HATE Greg Coleman and all his nick names and anecdotes. Greg…you were a PUNTER!!!! Listening to him you would think he was a franchise player! You know, as goofy as Jesse was at everything else he did…he was fun to listen to when it came to football play-by-play.
September 28, 2009 at 6:27 pm #755938Still on a hang over from the Hawks celebration, bloody beers watching the Pack in a ho hum game, then went over to the purple game, I knew Brent would put them in a position to get one last throw in. Geez the 49ers were playing it not to lose, if they’d just have played that last offensive series to win the game not the other way around they would have had a better chance.
September 28, 2009 at 6:41 pm #754082Nail biter?? anybody remember the purple gang and Tarkenton?
I’m betting while everybody remembers that hail mary pass, no one remembers Brett running downfeild to deliver a block…Ya, he’s a great quarterback imho.
But I doubt the queens will go much futher than the playoffs.
But its gonna be a interesting season, I’m betting he gets creamed by game 5 and will end up sidelined.
Hope not, but I don’t think he’ll get the protection he needs to stay healthy.
September 28, 2009 at 6:51 pm #752194If I was the Vike’s O line, I would be taking personal responsibility for the health of Mr. Favre. The whole world is watching this collection of guys with the sole responsibility of keeping Favre on his feet and off his ! So far they are failing miserably. They gotta be practicing against the likes of Allen and the William”s boys..you would think that would make them better if nothing else, right? But it sure does not seem to be the case!

That is a good one. You are joking, right?
September 28, 2009 at 8:10 pm #645520No joke, still best in the league.
Many come close, but not too many willing to lay it all on the line and then take the blame if it does not work out.why else would the whole football world still be talking about him? People want him to fail, and fail miserably–that way they can be justified in all their “told you so” bashing.
September 28, 2009 at 8:22 pm #732472Better then Brady? Manning? A whole boat load of other QBs? If you went through each team I bet the majority would rather have who they have now over Favre for 1 or 2 years? Just guessing though. Is it too early to start the Favre for MVP chat?
September 28, 2009 at 9:38 pm #567522Its funny all the sour puzzes that mention boobirds…. what the he77 do they do in cheeseland when the pack goes 3 and out at a critical time of the game ??? Fricken cheer ??? Only reinforces my opinion about cheeseheads IQ’S I guess….
BTW, with 1:29 left in a game and no time outs.. you better as he77 be throwing the ball at the sidelines…certainly not handing it off to a running back in the middle of a field…. I am no genius, but come on ????? Favres team ? He’s 1 of 11.

September 28, 2009 at 9:42 pm #567523After that cryfest news conference about retirement, and all the other garbage, good luck with him. Quite frankly he just did not want to play for the Packers anymore, and that was his out. After how well he played in the NFC championship for us, I can see how many people think he will lead the Queens to the Super bowl…..
We shall see how it ends up, but right now the season has barely started. That being said, the Packers cannot stop the run or pass on defense, so it is not going to be pretty next Monday night.

September 29, 2009 at 1:49 pm #550609Did not watch the whole game, but that was some pretty poor officiating. 2 penalties against the 49ers, one for roughing the passer and another downfield penalty that had both the announcers baffled. Another time, the niners had viking defender trapped standing in the neutral zone when the ball was snapped and it was not called. Singletary had to challenge the play where Farce went over the line of scrimmage because the refs did not see it. Hopefully they will get a better crew in for Monday night.
