Exactly, we will HAVE to win it all or we will be goats. Regardless, we are a better team with him.

Tuned in on the radio with about 4 minutes to go and heard the Queens go 3 and out on their own 20+. All I heard above the wailing of Paul Allen was the “BOOBIRDS” inside the “creampuff”. Can you say…….

Rodgers over Favre, I don’t think you could quite say that yet. A lot of people (who don’t have a clue) say that, but the Brett is a winner. Proved it again today. I bleed green and gold, but I would take Brett back in a second. Let’s see….doesn’t take hits, gets rid of the ball, and has had one losing season EVER. From what I can see, the Packers are headed for two in a row. I am not even sure I want to watch the game next week….OUCH! Hope I am wrong. Gotta love football season!

It looks like it’s gonna be a long season when GB gets to play an actual team. Wasn’t until the 4th quarter today that they finally had it in hand over the Rams! Not that the Vikes have played a real team prior to today, they have work to do too! Rodgers is a good QB but at 4 sacks a game and several hard hits how long is it until we see Brohm? Not long is my guess. Maybe the Pack ought to try swapping Babre with Herrel.

Not sure why you would think we would be suicidal over a great Favre play to win a game. He has been doing that his whole career- thats what makes him such a great player. Good luck next week and I hope the Viking fans arent suicidal if he throws an INT to lose the game.

And just to reinforce a point I made in another thread about who’s team it is, Favre or AP, I give the following. Keep in mind the Vikings are trailing by 4 with 1:29 left. Almost exact scenario I laid out in the previous thread, I predicted would give ownership of this team.

    Quote:

    # Minnesota Vikings at 01:29

    # 1-10-MIN 20 (1:29) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass short right to 81-V.Shiancoe to MIN 32 for 12 yards (22-N.Clements).

    # 1-10-MIN 32 (1:09) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass short right to 18-S.Rice pushed ob at MIN 41 for 9 yards (22-N.Clements).

    # 2-1-MIN 41 (1:05) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass incomplete deep middle to 81-V.Shiancoe.

    # 3-1-MIN 41 (1:00) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass short right to 12-P.Harvin to MIN 46 for 5 yards.

    # 1-10-MIN 46 (1:00) 4-B.Favre spiked the ball to stop the clock.

    # 2-10-MIN 46 (:40) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass incomplete deep right to 18-S.Rice.

    # 3-10-MIN 46 (:33) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass short right to 12-P.Harvin to SF 39 for 15 yards (52-P.Willis).

    # 1-10-SF 39 (:33) 4-B.Favre spiked the ball to stop the clock.

    # 2-10-SF 39 (:16) 4-B.Favre pass short left to 87-B.Berrian to SF 32 for 7 yards (36-S.Spencer).

    # 3-3-SF 32 (:12) (Shotgun) 4-B.Favre pass deep right to 17-G.Lewis for 32 yards, TOUCHDOWN [99-M.Lawson]. The Replay Assistant challenged the runner was in bounds ruling, and the play was Upheld.

Certainly mean no disrespect towards AP but it seems for this week the team is Favre’s. I expect that it will be anytime the team finds itself in that position. With any luck AP can run the ball enough to let Favre go back to “managing” the game.

Thanks SteveO! Ya know I looked and looked at that, knew it didn’t sound right, but went with it anyhow. Flynn is obviously the better QB and of the two my favorite as well.

Hmmm….how’d the Jets get to 3-0 this year without there fearless leader. Kind of interesting.

It’s very typical of Favre to start out hot at the beginning of the year. It’s later in the year, after he’s been banged around and the weather turns colder that he begins to lose his touch.

Granted, the vikes play indoors (at least there home games) and they are a better team than the last couple Favre has played on. I still want to see how he plays towards the end of the year when his body isn’t quite as “fresh” and pain free.

At least he’s keeping it interesting. Vikes owners gotta love that!

While I’d HATE to see Favre retire a Viking, and he won’t, I think it’d serve the back biters right if he did. If my some stroke of (in)genius he did I’d grimace and congratulate him!

Pretty funny, Favre has thrown 3 or 4 td passes for Purple and now he is retiring a Viking? Keep dreaming, we pounded up more teams with him in 17 years than the Vikings could ever hope to do with any QB the have had in there history. In the end he will show his age, but hey I am happy for him and so should the Vikings- this IS what he wanted when he retired his way out of Green Bay. You will get to know the dark side of old Favre soon enough- just ask a Jets fan….

Favre has a tremendous impact on the GAME. That is the bottom line. Winning the whole deal is still a shot in the dark for any team, and can’t help to chuckle when people say a season is a bust if you don’t win the superbowl. Hate to point out the obvious, but if that is the case most should probably stop wasting their sunday afternoons today….LOL Many things have to fall into place for that to happen. I do love the ole faithfull cursing a hall of fame quarterback, and placing all the blame on him or giving too much credit for the win. No question about it Percy Harvins 101 yard return was as instrumental in the win as anything. Or without a big 3 and out stand there is no chance for last second heroics. Point is simple Brett gives a team like the Vikings a better chance in tight games over Tjack. AP was or is still leading the league in rushing for whomever thinks he wasn’t carrying his load…LOL The Vikes have one of the better teams in the league, and I wouldn’t be so eager to jump on the bandwagon that Favres the savior either way. I would on the otherhand say that our coaching staff truly in the real world has the weight on their shoulders. IF IF IF…..The coaching staff can design some clever screens to AP along with Percy look out. Dropping Favre back in traditional sets could prove to be dangerous as he’s already taking a beating.

I hated when we played against Favre, but loved watching him play. The will to win, and the desire to play the game should put smiles on all football fans faces. For those who don’t think he’s good for the game, and afterall this is entertainment you might want to re-think. I bet Monday nights game will get the highest Television ratings for a Monday night game for ALL time!! GO VIKES!!

It was a nice pass and catch. It was amazing how quickly the boobirds went away after the first failed two minute drill. If the 49ers didn’t have such a putrid offense the game would have been over. I’m pretty sure their strategy the whole game was to run their three plays and then punt.

Now before the bandwagon gets too full and you start making SB plans, the Queens have yet to play an NFL caliber team. Sure, the 49ers were 2-0, against team in their same awful division. Maybe they will play someone this coming weekend (not that the Pack has looked stellar). You take away that one pass, I would think there would be a little concern with the purple?

Besides a few delusional Packer fans out there who still think the Packers would have won the super bowl last year, I don’t know anybody who wants Favre over Rodgers? They both are playing decent and one of them is not ready to collect social security and is not a drama queen.

Speaking of Favre retiring as a Queen, did anybody catch that commercial from spikefootball.com with the Favre football? Kind of makes it sound like Favre got all of those career marks while playing for the Queens. Would someone actually buy that??

Oh, and I love those Sears commercials!

In my opinion, we got very, very lucky yesterday. Our O line got outplayed most of the game. Loadholt taking off the play on the field goal, Hutchinson adn McKinney got blown up more than a few times. Berrian probably couldn’t have played any worse.

If the old man can hustle down the field 50 yards and attempt to block a linebacker, well, that just goes to show who wanted to win out there yesterday. This is a new attitude for many here.

As for booing, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Play poorly, let them know you are not satisfied. I know we are not the perfect fans like everyone at dumbo stadium, but don’t throw rocks from glass houses. It’s old and boring.

All in all, it was a W. Bring on the stinky cheese!!

That last two minutes was all Favre. Chili Dip tried his best to lose the games with dumb- play calls in the middle of the field rather than side line shots to stop the clock and keep a time out or two! Favre himself admitted that play wasn’t in the book. T-Jack or Sage was not making that play. That to me is what Favre brings to the team. Yeah, his arm may fall off later in the year, heck…the Dome could deflate too! But he was brought in for his ability to do just what he did yesterday. Will it go the other way sometime? Heck yeah, probably. It usually does for the Vikes. But yesterday was our day. That game was lost…Favre salvaged it from the ashes with a little known wide receiver that will no doubt get a little more attention this year. I hope!! As far as the Super Bowl? Until the Vikes can establish a deep game, I don’t see them getting to the big dance. Too many other good teams with the whole package. Peterson cannot carry this team. We are one injury to him from being a very mediocre team in my opinion. How about some pass protection? Sheeeeeze!!! Favre has to be spending some time in the hot tub today! But I am enjoying seeing the Purple do well early…They usually do. The rug doesn’t seem to get pulled out from under us until later in the season when the bandwagon is full.

You may also want to toughen up your WRs with the girly hands so they stop dropping so many passes. Berrian dropped as many balls as the 49ers DBs did.

Favre versus Rodgers. Compare the number of wins from each since the departure. Since wins is what matters. Enough said.
