After a couple years, mine finally got the dreaded 3 rings last night. I couldn’t find the reciepts, and never registered it, so warranty it out of the question. I took the case off, but gave up after I couldn’t find the T10 needed to pull it apart.
Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, did you resink the solder yourself, or take it in? Any places good for quick turnaround?

Call Gamestop or Best Buy. Typically the “Three Rings of Death” is a free replacement or repair.

Tuck is right if it’s less than three years old…..there is a manufactures date on the back. Go to the x-box 360 home page it walks you through it. I sent the kids in after the warranty period and it cost like $99 to fix, took about 2 weeks to get it back.

for the $100 charge you get complete software update and anything else that has been changed. as for the turnaround time for mine it was also about two looong weeks for the kids.. thankfully their spoiled and have a ps3 and a wii.

There’s a guy that will repair it for $40, and I can wait. Even though it’s under warranty, with a 5 year old that loves the streaming Netflix, it’s not worth the wait for me. Any of you planning on buying “The Strike” when it comes out this fall? Supposed to be the most realistic fishing game out there.
