Kitty by the tail

    Yesterday 9-18-2009, my son and I were fishing below the Coralville Dam near North Liberty, Iowa. My son noticed some commotion along shore. When we got close up I couldn’t believe my eyes. A 3-4 foot Water Snake had a 5-6 inch Flat Head Kitty by the tail and was holding it on the rocks til it quit breathing. The pictures are from my cell phone.

    NO WAY!

    What are the chances of being there to see that??

    Now I’m wondering what the snake will do with a flathead that size? So it swallows the cat…then is too big to get under a rock and an eagle has snake and catfish dinner?

    Kinda like Cabelas Turduhen?

    BK. It looks like you have some competition out there as well. I wouldn’t worry though. Great pix. Curious how he caught it though.
