Perhaps the world’s ultimate coffee??

I admit it….I have a coffee problem. I suspect that many of you do as well. Whether it’s my day job, or my other life that takes place largely in a boat, there’s usually coffee in my hand or at least nearby. I even make sure to spill some in most of the boats I fish in….right Dean??

Most of my current and former students know about this problem, and as they travel the globe, they often send me back a few tastes of the coffee planet. I have a student who just spent some time in Brazil, and she sent me back a couple packs of this stuff: Cafe do Ponto. Let me tell you, from one coffee specialist to another, this is some pretty special coffee.

Fine ground so the yield is very good. A solid dose of caffeine accompanied by outstanding flavor. Not the least bit bitter, perhaps a hint of nutty flavor. Excellent with a splash of milk.

If you’re on the lookout for some new coffee to try, look this stuff up. It is actually available direct from a coffee imported in Boston. The price is incredible! In Brazil, the price is ~ $2 US per pound….less than $7 from the importer, making it comparable to (or less than!) many brands you’re likely to encounter on the store shelves.

    Happy sipping!

Thanks Jason!! I’m a bit of a coffee junkie/connoisseur myself. I’m sitting here sippin on some fresh ground and brewed extra bold Sumatran right now. I’ll have to keep my eye out for cafe do Ponto at some of the places I buy beans. Thanks.

The important question is,” Can you get the stain out of the carpet?”. My brother “TomP” Must of changed brands because it’s getting harder to get it out of the carpet and I had to experiment with some new products for clean up. I tolerate it because accidents do happen and he takes the time to share his fishing knowledge with me. It’s just a trade off. Maybe I’ll just install “brown” carpet if the need arises.

As an aside to all the great stuff you bring to us fellow IDO’ers regarding fishing and coffee tidbits, please feel no need to answer if you care not to publish:

Where and what do you teach???

By the way I am sitting at my desk LARGE THERMOS of fresh ground and brewed Columbian 8 O’clock…

I’m also a coffee geek. I think I’ve tried about everything but best thing I’ve found lately for brewing coffee is the Clever Coffee Dripper from Sweet Maria’s. gt

The only drink I like better than good black coffee is a good coffee flavored beer. Brian Robinson got me hooked on an Expresso Stout from a brewery in Kearney, NE that is incredible. 5 or 6 glasses of that stuff and I start to feel like a dancing bananna.

PS Don’t bring any to Everts until after Sunday…Dean’s a little wound up about the condition of his leaf blower.

How the heck was I to know Diesel fuel doesn’t have oil in it.

    1) When did Dean learn to use a leaf blower?
    2) Diesel powered?
When did Dean stop drinking coffee long enough
    to use a leaf blower?

    HI DEAN; guess who?
