years ago a bought my step son a youth .243 with the shorthened stock new from remington–I think I remember being able too replace that stock with a full size to make it a regular length gun–does anyone know this for sure before I start calling around?? thanks

You are correct in your assumption. The action and barrel are not shortened, only the stock. Cabels has some nice resin stocks that can help you out by simply odering for the model number.

Remington offers youth guns in a couple different models, rifles and shotguns. Cost depends on the model.
