My tires are just over two years old now. 39k miles. How long can one expect tires to last? Seems like there is still plenty of tread on these, just wondering when I should start budgeting for new tread.

I always have gone with 50,000 miles considering they have normal wear and tear. I have about 15k before I buy some new meats.

I have seen 60+ consistently on all-terrain types. I have over 50 on the set I’m running now and they will definitely make it through the winter.

I just replaced what I believe to be the ORIGINAL Uniroyal Laredos on my ’03 Blazer last month.

Man, it was getting tough to pull the empty trailer back up the ramp!

    Tires

You do any oil changes as of late

50K-60K seems to be about when I need to put new ones on too

if you get scheduled and regular rotations, balance, and an alignment a couple times a year you should be able to reach 60K

I have an 02 f-150 came with goodyears on it, I never liked them but it was part of the deal. I rotated them every 9000 miles and just put new tires on, they had 62,000 on them and probably could have made another winter, but I feel better with the new rubber. with a little care tires will last as many have said 50 – 60 thou

I got almost 70,000 on my last set of Goodyear Wranglers, but they started the summer pretty bald and there was no way I could have driven them into the winter. Still, I was able to put off the expense for a few months! 60,000 is probably very realistic if you even rotate them a couple of times.

I balance and rotate every other oil change. I was running the Michelon (spelling?) X radial but have started to run BF Goodrich comerical TA. The Michelons always got 70-80,K miles hopefully the BF Goodrich do as well. BTW these are on a F250. My wife had the same Michelons on her Ranger and got the same mileage on her tires.

It depends on what you expect to do with your vehicle(truck). I do a lot of off roading, especially in the winter. Even though my tires “looked good” with “plenty of tread” I was having to get pulled out of snow drifts and up hills on minimum maintenance roads a lot the last year I had those tires on my truck. Sure, on road they had plenty of life. However for hunting and fishing purposes, they had NO life left.

So now I replace my tires way before it is “recommended”. While it is expensive, walking out of some backwoods hole isn’t a desirable thought.

BF Goodrich All-Terrain TA KO or Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo. I’ve got the BF Goodrich on my truck. Got to say I LOVE the traction in the slop.

99% of my tire wear is on Interstate 94 commuting 35 miles one way. Other than that, I will hit the occasional lake for some ice fishing. So, I won’t be in the market for anything to agressive.

    Thanks for all the advice!!

I got nearly 80,000 out of my last set of Coopers. Ride was good and very quiet. I rotate every 10,000 miles.

I ground a set off of my GMC Sierra within 30,000 miles. After whining to the dealer I was informed rotating was the key. I learned my lesson.

I have 61k on my Navigator and think I can get 1 more winter out of them. I did get a quote, and it is over $1k to replace them though..

Last set of tires I had were Kumho’s. Cant remember the model or style name but they were the more aggresive type. They lasted me 74,000. Rotated every other oil change, and balanced and alignment every 4th oil change. I now have BF Goodrich A/T KO. Have been happy with them so far with 43k on them and a little under half wore.
