Just wondering if anyone could explain this to me. Last year when I was in the process of buying my Mojo rods from St.Croix I’m pretty sure the advertisements read Made In The USA ! My 4 rods say nothing on them where they were made. How ever I was in a [censored] Sporting goods yesterday and all their Mojo rods say Made In Mexico!! I really like the rods and all the hype that went on earlier this year on this site about them. But I will not purchase anymore of these rods in the future. I will spend a little more money and buy the Avids. We have to support this country !!! Glenn

From what I know the first batch were made in the U.S.A. But because of demand that opened up a plant in maexico to keep up with it.
rmklink0817Posts: 78September 5, 2009 at 7:08 pm #802798I have also heard that. Made here but then mojo selling rates went sky high so they had to move them to Mexico to keep up. I believe i read it in a post on here.
September 5, 2009 at 8:17 pm #802801Glenn,initial production was indeed in Park Falls, unbelievable sales were far beyond Park Falls capacity. The Triumph price point line which was made in China,is also being brought to North America for production in Mexico along with the MoJo line.I believe for a period of time yet,the rods are currently being built in both facilities untill production meets demand.

September 5, 2009 at 10:01 pm #802812Soon you are going to see most if not all St. Croix rods made abroad. They just opened the new plant in Mexico, it is not going anywhere.
September 6, 2009 at 1:03 am #802823I don’t think so…
At least not while they are still owned by the Shluetter family from Park Falls. The current CEO is a third generation family member as are many of the employees.
The higher quality rods will be manufactured in Park Falls.
The Mojo is a fishing rod “miracle” story with over 75,000 sold this year alone!
In fact…if they continued to make Mojos in Park Falls, you would have to wait eons for an Avid or better rod. The Mexico plant allows them to get back on track with the other models…for a few months there was a long wait for just about any XF action rod.September 6, 2009 at 1:07 am #802824Quote:

I’ve asked everyone up the food chain at St. Croix about the higher end rods ending up over seas. “Not going to happen” is the answer at every turn.
September 6, 2009 at 2:15 am #802828Thanks for the replies here guys. Like I said I really like my Mojo rods. Matter of fact I was going to buy one of each of the bait casting rods to switch out all my actual bass rods. Myself and everyone on here could go on and on about how things shake out here in this country. But I ask why….could’nt St Croix build that other plant here in “OUR” country!! But we all know the answer. However for now I have a choice and St.Croix has provided that for now. I’ll go with the Avids. Thanks to St.Croix for building an awsome product though. Glenn
