    Top of 9. Nathan on the mound. 2 outs, up 2-0. What are the odds Chicago scores 4 runs. Holy did they choke this one away this afternoon.

    He gave up back to back jacks with two outs that tied the game. The first one was on a full count. Terrible loss today.

    Yes and No. Geurrier came in with 2 outs and two on. Gave up a hit and wild pitch for the go ahead runs.

    if they were in any other division in baseball they would be completely out of the race by now.

    Am I the only one who thinks Joe Nathan is lucky and over rated?? No one ever seems to agree with me on this, but check out his last 10 or more save opportunities. Heck check out the whole year for that matter.

    These are common headlines;
    “Minnesota held on despite Joe Nathan’s shaky ninth”.

    Or how about this one…
    “ closer Joe Nathan gave up a solo home run to tie the game.”

    And
    “Twins closer Joe Nathan made things interesting in the ninth inning”

    And
    “Joe Nathan gave up back-to-back homers with two outs in the ninth”

    And of course don’t forget about almost every other game where the defense has to bail him out. He’s almost blown everyone. How many balls can we catch at the warning track? Or how many double plays can we turn to get him out of a jam? Or how many balls can go just foul? He’s lucky at best! Today he blew a two run lead. I’m not saying he’s no good, I’m just saying I’m not going to worship him like everyone else in the state seems too.

    I almost have to agree…… He’s good at times, But last week when he blew the lead and had to throw 60 pitches I think got into his head.

    I think worship might be a too big of a word…..

    We lost because of Nathan. He’s been terrible since the AS break. Geurrier threw one bad pitch, the wild pitch. Fact is, he never should have been in the game. Nathan let the team down, seems pretty standard these days. .2 innings, 2 hits, 4 runs, 4 earned runs, 2 BB and 2 HR’s. Those 2 winning runs were on his shoulders.

    Twins have been playing great baseball lately winning 11 of the last 15. Twins didn’t stink it up today, Nathan did.

    Could have used this game but were right in the hunt, still have 7 games with Detroit….those games will be the decider. If we can win 5 of those I think it makes the twins the division champs. We can only hope.
