Ginseng hunting

Just wondering how many sang hunters there are on IDO i hunt it every year

I dont hunt it but I have found a ton of it what should I do with it, a woods full it!

you ever find any wild ones around here? Used to do a little work on the fields during the younger days.

Had a HUGE patch located on a friends place.(posted private property)
Went out yesterday to harvest some and it’s all gone.
Some low life went in early and took EVERY plant.
From big 5 prongers to baby 1 prongers EVERY plant gone!
Sucks I would have expected it with higher prices but it’s way down. Just sucks

Ok you guys, you have my mushroom/leak ears perked up. Where do you look? What’s it look like?

This is precisely why I never say a word when I come across it, and choose not to harvest it. Just like anything else, it’s fun to hunt, but it’s becoming more rare than about anything else in the woods, including morels!

Around our house, seng season is also deer camera stealing season. Trespassers get their pic snapped and take the camera with them–if people only knew who was running around their woods dressed in camo while you sit at work.
