oem lower unit?

    have to get a new lower unit and insurance will only pay for a oem lower unit. whats the differnce between a mercury factory lower unit and a oem lower unit? And is it a good idea to get one of these.

    “OEM” Original equipment manufacturer. OEM should be a factory lower unit.

    oem should be just fine. it just means they arent going to pay for an aftermarket/upgrade part. it will be the same specs as the day it left the factory.

    give them a big smile as you take your check to the bank!
