I need this for my Escape, and was quoted a price from my dealer that was almost 10x more than what I can get it for online. It just doesn’t make sense…

Check the discount stores and Fleet Farm etc. I have found good deals in the past if the item is stocked.

It really depends on the part. I know Mopar has body fasteners, that are like $5….each…. you can find em on-line for a bag of 20 for $11.00. Like anything, there are deals to be had on-line for sure. Your dealer probably stocks it and an on-line store will just do the transaction and ship from a supplier, never touching the part. Alot cheaper, with no inventory or overhead, not an excuse, just a fact.

online truck parts like that have worked well for me in the past. it has saved me a lot of cash vs a dealer or customs shop…

I got mine from etrailer.com. I went to F&F and they could order it for almost $50. It was from Hopkins Towing. I then called Hopkins and the price was over $30 with shipping. I realized it was the same part number as etrailer and ordered it from etrailer for $17.
