I can’t wait for the talk of a quarterback controversy

    Farve 1-4 for 4 yards
    T Jack 12-15 for 202 yards AND 2 TDs
    J Boody 6-8 for 61 yards

According to the numbers, Farve should be third on the depth charts

True it is only preseason but the cash for clunker program ends on sunday so the vikings should take the $4500.00 and run

#4 took a couple pretty mean hits putting him on his backside. He appeared to survive the demo derby and keep running.

Regardless of how good / bad the Packers and vikings are this year, Minnesota money wise made a really smart move…. I bet marketing and sales wise, they have already re-couped Favre’s $12 million dollar salary.

<<< Gamebreak….. oooooh…. just watched the 3 td of the game.. Rodgers to Driver…. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet! I know its only preseason, but the Pack is lookin’ good so far!!!!!! >>>>>

Read an article about it today, the Vikings alone recouped 1/4th of it. Maybe the rest by next Friday?

All I have to say about it is that Favre sure made T-Jack look good. Getting Favre must have lit a fire under T-Jacks

My one and only take on it: Favre/Viking marriage will end up in divorce court. When things get tough the fact that Favre skipped trainning camp and Chilli all but slapped his other QB’s across the chops when Favre called will come back and bite them both. Favre was described as “distant” last year in the Jets club house- not a leader. My guess is if he acts the same way this year, and suddenly he has “arm troubles” because of age/poor preformace you will know why: did you see the lack of team work between him and his recievers yesterday? Those types of consistent plays are made by practice reps. Things will get ugly for coach Chilli who put all his eggs in the Favre basket. I would give this marriage a 10% chance of success- I would consider success a trip the the NFC championship game if not further since the Vikings are supposedly so close to winning it all. When things get tough for this team and they will- all teams go through tough stretches in the NFL season, I think players could turn against Favre because all the team building that he could of done was brushed away by Lord Favre, in the end Viking fans will hate him for ruining there season and he will have alienated a huge portion of his loyal fan base in Wisconsin(that will happen no matter what happens this year). Now I will sit back make some popcorn and watch this all play out- this should be good! Go Pack the 2009 NFC North Champs P.S. Wait to by your purple 4 jersey they will be alot cheaper on the dicount racks at Christmas time, if I am wrong they will make more

    Some good points BP.

But for everyone, lets not get too out of control here. He practiced a couple times at half speed before taking snaps in real gametime conditions.. The next game will probly look the same for Favre, and even the next. Lets wait until 4-5 games into the season before chopping heads.

And oh, BTW…..TJack is interviewing for a 3rd string spot with another team,, that’s the fire he’s got now. Favre,Sage, Booty. Booty to start for the Vikings in 2011,,much like Rogers did.

Interesting take on it BP. Time will prove how correct you may be.

Big g be careful using the “quote” feature as a way to preserve these cute threads. Most forum software now a days will also change the quotes within another members reply. To get away from that manually ‘copy” the post you want to preserve and use the “[ quote ]” method to prevent unwanted changes. You know just in case there has to be “proof” down the road, lol.

I was expecting more like 5′ 6″. Same weight though.

I don’t know how people can say the rest of the team are going to turn on him if things don’t go right. All the leaders on the team were ‘allegedly’ texting him to come play. Him and Gerald Allen, couple of good old boys, seem pretty chatty on the sidelines. The reason he was distant in New York was because he didn’t want to play there. He wanted to play here but your upper management was too afraid of that scenario.

All I care is that Favre plays at least average, because we have enough talent on both sides of the ball to give us a chance.

“All I care is that Favre plays at least average, because we have enough talent on both sides of the ball to give us a chance. “

He will give you the first 10 to 12 games then he will step off the cliff and cost you games down the stretch, We know, we watched it happen during his last 4 seasons as a Packer.

My take on the 2007 season (13-3) Yes he was a factor on getting us to the playoffs along with a strong defense. But he also lost the packers superbowl apperance by way of dumbass interceptions.

Viking fans get ready to see great games from Favre and then be ready for very poor games to follow, it all depends on which favre will show up and he will caquse Chilly to loose the little hair he has left because Favre calls his own plays most of the time. Not what was sent in through audible’s at the line.
You will love the guy and hate the guy all one season and it will change from week to week.

As I said before, I know because I have been a die hard packer fan from from the Paul Horning days and watched 99.9 % of Favres plays through his Packer seasons.

My only hope is we have a chance to love him. With Tjack, there is NO chance(unless the game doesn’t count for anything). Sage has potential, but I still stick to why wasn’t he ever a consistent starter in this league?? So, the old man is our best chance. Sucks, because I think any grounded NFL fan realizes the chance for this to fail is quite great.

Hopefully Chilli is smart enough to pull him and rest him as much as possible if the games allow. However, stating “smart” and “Chilli” in the same sentence seems to be an oxymoron.

that’s what happens when you go on vacation and leave a photo of yourself out. our artists are very good with photoshop. even inserted a Viking hat on my head if you look close enough. pretty funny stuff. a Packer fan that works in the Twin Cities leaves himself open to all kinds of abuse. especially when you get our qb of 16 years. i am still bitter.
