they’re pretty easy to rebuild if you just need new seals in the rams. I think the hardest part is getting all the air out of the system once its all back together. Messy job, but definitely doable.

I replaced a seal two years ago and it started leaking AFTER the first time out this year..

I talked to the guy who replaced it, and he says that I probably need a new ram..

money is really tight.. yeah..that tight.. so I probably am going to do the seal again.. and replace the ram at a later date..

how do you remove those caps? I assume that they screw off, and the seal is right there.. but how do you unscrew them? they have the four dots or holes in them, is there a special tool that you need? I would assume so..

I was kinda hoping for a response.. is replacing the seals something that I can do for myself?

and for the guy who’s T-N-t is out.. if the outboard motor is still good.. maybe adding an “off brand” t-n-t is the answer.. there are other trim units to buy instead of factory ones..
