Oh yes i’m looking for a good jigging line, i’ve tried pline, berkly sensation and some other cheep stuff. I’m sick of of it getting tangled up open to any help thanks

Vertical jigging? I’m partial to the clear Vanish. Dean [Everts]sells an orange line line that gets good reveiws and I have several rods rigged with it and no complaints. In braids for vertical jigging I like the Crystal, but power pro is another dandy line.

Cortland Endurance is that orange line… If you dont have issues seeing the line Cajun line is another option..

I spooled up four rods with it last fall Jeff and really like the stuff. It seems to have a limited stretch and has decent sensitivity to it. For visiblity it would be a tough one to beat and when the wind id chugging away and I’m vertical jigging, this makes it great for seeing those little ticks even if they don’t get felt. Dean has a winner there.

The Cortland line is on nearly all of my spinning reels now. Dean also carries the Cortland line in clear, if Hi-Vis isn’t your thing. Even on the clearest lakes, however, I’ve never felt at a disadvantage with Hi-Vis line.

for jigging i like to use either the green or crystal fireline. you can feel the slightest little tick. i use 6 lb test. there is no strech in the line so i put a 3 or 4 ft flouro leader in 6 lb test so i get a little strech when i set the hook so i dont just rip it right out.and the green and white make it easier to detect bites and in rivers it helps you know if your staying vertical

What knot do you use to connect that 3 -4 ft flouro leader to the fireline. I like the crystal as well but have have more than my share of knot failures>

I prefer powerpro 10/2 with a palomar knot and i have yet to have a knot fail. And the sensitivity is excellent. also works great for casting.

Line to line, use a blood knot.
Line to lure, use a Polomar knot.

agreed… the palomar is the way to go. here’s a quick vid if you dont know how to tie it. the only difference here for me is that i like to put a 2nd loop through the eye of the hook for superline. in my mind it helps hold better. also, didnt the palomar win knot wars on the NA fisherman show?

    palomar knot

and the blood is ok but hard to do on the fly… the uni-to-uni is easier imo.. but if you are using a leader, wouldnt a small barrel swivel be more advantageous? anyway, here’s the uni-to-uni

Yeah i forgot to mention palomar is line to lure which is usually how i use it. but when i do tie a mono leader on i use a uni to uni.
