Does anyone else keep leeches through the winter?

    I keep as many leeches alive as I can through the winter. I’m wondering what if anything you feed them. I half shiners or large fatheads a couple times during the winter. I lose alot of the leeches in the week that follows a feeding, but the remaining ones seem livelier. What do others do? BTW, these are the small panfish leeches.

    If a leech gets too much slime on its body it suffocates. It helps to put a piece of screen or a chunk of scotchbrite pad in with them.
