I have been reading this site for sometime. I decided to join. I mainly trout fish in the Black Hills but I have always been interested in learn to fish of walleye. I havent had much luck in this area. I am also looking for any information on stocked trout steams in easter South Dakota. I would appreciate any help in this area.

Living in Wisconsin and having never fished in South Dakota, I am of no help. Just wanted to say welcome to the site. The more the merrier.

Once you start chasing walleyes you’ll forget all about those pesky trout. I use to fish the Black Hills years ago. My stomping grounds were around Custer and French Creek. Welcome aboard!!!

Welcome and what do you mean by “this area?” Rochester? As a SD native, if you are a trouter you are in business around here. I don’t think there are trout streams eastern SD- could you by any chance have meant Eastern MN? The river takes time for walleye, just ask questions, and ppl will give you answers or refer you to a previous post that will explain many things. Use the search engine and you can probably find whatever you want on river walleyes. Take care, p4.

Hey Dutch. Click on the flashing envelope at the top of the page. I think we have a mutual friend and may have even talked before.

Welcome to IDO SD Dutch, you have some very good walleye action in your area. The Missouri River has a bunch of good walleye lakes. Oahe is my favorite.

Aaaah. I think we all just got a little smarter adding another South Dakotan to the mix. And remember, we are the better of the Dakotas.

    Welcome!!
