Anyone have any good recomendations of a hotel near the dome that has a kiddie pool and a shuttle to the dome for a twins game? Planning on taking the wife and kids to a twins game this saturday in the dome so the wife and little fellas can say they saw a game there.
    Thanks,

Maybe stay out in Bloomington by the Mall Of America. Ton of motels, water park, shopping and the kids can say they rode the light rail to the game!!

Do one of the motels by the Mall Of America…

the Light Rail has a hook up right there at the mall…I have gone to the dome and used it…it will drop you off right in front of the Dome…

IMO…there is no better way !!!

how do you get tickets for the rail? Can you but them at the rail stops? Is it safe to take small children on it at 10 or 11 PM on a sat. night after the game?

You can buy the passes a number of ways including online.

The downtown hotel with the waterpark is the Depot. We have had some of our kids birthdays there. Good spot, not far from the dome, easy $5 cab ride for the family. Might have dome shuttle.

Both the depot and MOA hotel with waterpark are a little spendy, especially on weekends with the Twins in town. But still worth it!

Otherwise, there’s a Marriott property downtown with an outdoor pool, the Best Western downtown may have a pool and is extremely close to the dome. The Hyatt and Millenium downtown have pools and are on Nicollet Mall. You might be able to priceline something downtown last minute.

    Just some ideas for ya!

Stay at the Marriott downtown on 7th. It has a pool, is walking distance from the light rail which is on 5th and the Marriott is under a mile away from the new stadium so you can check it out.

Also you can buy tickets for the light rail at the station. If you can buy a candy bar out of a vending machine, you will be a champion at buying light rail tickets. The tickets are good for up to two hours and can be used on the busses if you wish.

You can get light rail tickets right at the stops. They have ticket machines that you just slide you atm card through or put in the cash like a pop machine. It’s safe too especially after games. On a side note it’s pretty full after the games.

Light rail is great for Twins games and easy enough that even an old fart like me has no trouble using it

Was up in the Twin Cities recently to see a Twins game. We stayed at the Hotel Minneapolis, which was nice. They had the best cookies ever and you get a free one when you check in. Very nice! Valet your car, can’t go wrong. Here’s the website: http://www.thehotelminneapolis.com

This place I think was on 4th St., don’t quote me, but I know it was 4 blocks from the Metrodome.
