What do you guys/gals think about Boulton boats? I came across them the other day for the first time. I really would like to have skiff series sport cabin. They look like they would dominate any conditions MN could offer. Or do they stink because I have never seen one out on the water?

Look like great boats to me. The dealers are pretty far away though. I’ll keep an eye out when I’m over on Lake Michigan. If I see one I’ll give it a once over.

Mike Boulton builds a great boat. Mike is an actual marine architect and all of his hulls are lofted and blueprinted.

Mike’s father was one of the founders of Alumaweld which has a reputation in the pacific northwest like Lund does here. Mike learned his craft there and is probably one of the most accomplished boat designers on the west coast.

I used to have a Jetcraft that was designed by Mike when he was part owner of Jetcraft. It had a 300 HP LT1 corvette engine and 3/4 turn lock to lock steering and it performed and handled like a Ferrari. It was by far the best handling boat I have ever had the pleasure to drive. It was powerful, quiet, and built like a tank.

I would always feel comfortable and confident with a Boulton built boat.

You inquired about a Boulton Skiff Sport Cabin. I’ve had one for quite a few years and love it. My wife and I are getting older and have decided to sell it. I will attach a picture of it and if your interested I can email you more pictures and an equipment list.

What does something like that cost?

In 2004 the boat cost was 90K plus. In 2017, I’m thinking low 30,s would be a fair price. The picture was taken without the Furuno radar on, which is included.

Richard, don’t sell yourself short. Out west that boat commands mid 40’s.

The looks like a fantastic LOW or Great Lakes boat! What is the length of the boat?

    Thanks,

The boat is 21′-7″ with a 32″ buoyant platform for the engines. We’ve had it 50 miles off the Oregon coat chasing Albacore.
