Mercruiser Outdrive problem (Tilt)

After having my “new to me” Lund on the water this past weekend, i’ve run into a problem. The tilt switch seems to do nothing, leaving my lower unit and prop at a poor angle, close to the surface. Is there a way to test the trim motor and associated parts to isolate the issue? It seems the switch works so its either in the wiring or one of the tilt components itself. Any way to manually raise and lower this until I have more time/money?

Most Mercruiser outdrives have a gauge on the dash to tell what the position of the drive is at, and then the throtle lever has 2 buttons or switches for trailer and then fo rup and down. try then both of the switches in the drive way and see what happens. The connections for the pump can corrode and not supply the proper voltage to make the hydraulic pump not work corectly, and then the round sensors on the lower unit can get damaged/corroded also. Hope that helps a little.
