can you upgrade an older lakemaster chip(idk what year it is i think 06 or 07) to bring it up to date with the newer chips or do you just have to go and buy a new one? would like to see the wingies and some structure on p3 but it dosent show anything.

    thanks

I’m pretty positive you’ll need to buy a new one.

Here you go…Jami pay attention this time.

Click on the LakeMaster link to the left. Either email or call them directly.

You will need to send in your old chip for the trade up.

I did the up grade this last spring and love the way they have the wing dams on P3. Can’t miss them…for navigation.

I heard some people fish them too.

i just answered my own question i looked on lakemaster and they have a program that you upload to the chip and it upgrades it. i just have to buy the pc card reader/programmer from lowerance. i guess you just plug your chip into the computer and download it and when you put the chip back in and start it up it automaticly changes it.

so you can send them in and they will upgrade them for you? how much does that cost?

Now the price I don’t recall, but it was reasonable.

I just did all that and there is no trade ins. Must buy new and try to sell the old one or throw it away.

when you get on the site go to downloads then product updates and you choose which one you have and itll show you how to update it. at least thats how im reading it i could be wrong. you just need to get the pc card reader.

Yes, here is the quote from Lakemaster:

There is not an upgrade policy for the state products. Customers
simply sell there old product at a reduced price, there is a good market
    for older products.

From the horses mouth at LakeMaster. (sorry Jeff)

As the earlier post stated, State Chips can’t be up graded, however chips like the Lake of the Woods chips can.

Jami, I owe you half a beer.
