My lantern is doing the bright to dim back and forth then shuts off after awhile. What is wrong with this baby? Any thoughts…

Does it have a hole in the filament?

White gas, or LP? White gas could be bad generator, LP could be partial plugged line, or bad valve.

most hardware stores, but know the model #
i quit running White gas, too many issues
if u want a GREAT lantern that is cheap and brighter than any White gas, consistent and had no problems, go to Walmart and get the ozark trail singke tube style mantle that runs on one pounders, it will go about 10 hrs on high. its small and tough, i was very skeptical but have put them to the test flopping aroung in the otter behung mu snowmobile, also it fits in my big pocket in fishing coat which is how i now carry it. Trust me they are the BEST and only $16. if u do get one dont use coleman, the light is not as good, its m ore yellow

Coleman’s are very easy to find parts for any hardware, or sporting goods store should have the parts you need. I have had two of them for over 30 years with hardly any problems. However when I do any night time crappie fishing in the summer I usually take my propane Coleman so I don’t have to interrupt the action to pump up one of the white gas lanterns.
