I’m doing a bit more fishing out of Prescott and am curious at what point of the river do you need to have a Minnesota fishing license. I’d like to try fishing upstrem on the Mississippi, but don’t need to get pinched.

I beleive the rule is “track to track” so if you are between the minnesota and Wisconsin train tracks either license is legit. Hope this helps, happy huntin TA

I think I heard that you can not go past the point there into the mississippi. Because if you look at the rules that is cosidered Minnesota inland waters. there is a sign at the Hastings launch stating that also.

    denver is right,
you can not fish in the miss r. upstream of where the st croix and ol’ miss come together.
and he is also right, when he said it is “inland waters”, and would not be available to be fished with a non-MN licenced fisherperson.
    Jack.
