I know IKE isn’t liked by some (right riverfan? )- but his positives outweigh whatever negatives people think he has…

Bass pro Michael Iaconelli fulfills ailing girl’s wish, and then some:

Michael Iaconelli, one of the world’s top pro bass anglers and a former Bassmaster Classic champion, recently complied with a terminally ill girl’s simple request to chat with him.

Nice story. Reminds me I should do something like that. Don’t know if Kenney would answer my call though?

Way to go Ike, even if you are a “bit” over the top.

Hey.. at least IKE is willing to step up.. unlike Rodland martini.. who left a kid dying.. with the quote “why should I change my schedule for one kid”…

it was so bad that the USATODAY stepped in.. and got Bill Dance and Orlando Wilson to take the kid fishing.

or its even like here.. when we should say and do certain things and we don’t..

    and its all about reputation.

Ike has a bad one, but if you watch his fishing show, City Limits fishing, I saw him work with a kid who didn’t know him from Adam. and help the kid out..

Sometimes we judge a book by its cover or hearsay.. and we don’t take the time to FIND OUT THE TRUTH.. or find out the heart of a guy..

    my rant for the day..

Hell, I throw temper tantrums while fishing, and there is never money on the line. What’s that say about me???

    Way to go, Ike!

I’d be a lot more worried about what a speedo says about you than your temper.

Your right but it’s the “Ike Show” I don’t like. Kudo’s to Mike for doing what he did.
What’s interesting is watching old (before the show) tournament tapes of Ike. There was a tournament on the out east where he did well and thanked his wife and mom on stage. When was the last time you saw that?

I like Ike, I’m happy to hear he took the time to talk to the little girl. I have a couple thoughts on “Going Ike” one- it could be at the request of ESPN to add a little color to watching fishing on TV—not quite NFL viewing, I have seen a few other big name guys try similar antics and it looked phoney and forced and I never seen them do it twice. Another thought is look at the air time he gets, if he is way up the leader board or washing out he always gets air time and his sponsors just have to love that!
