Stiffening the steering??

Is there a “control” in the steering wheel gearing box that will stiffen up the steering?? My steering wheel turns too easy in my opinion and thought I would ask before replacing the system. It is a ’98 smoker 170 phantom.

Don’t know about a motor with steering but a tiller motor has a tension nut with a lever that moves horizontally at the pivot point…at least mine does. ’05 Merc
