I read an article about making a leech trap using a coffee can sometime back. But my memory is really good but even shorter. Anyone know how to make one?

Take a tin coffee can, make a hole in the plastic lid, about the size of a #2 pencil, this is where the leeches will get in. Put some really small holes in the bottom of the can, to help sink it. Make one bigger hole in the bottom, to put a retrieve string in, tie a knot in the string, so it won’t pull through. Put a hunk of liver in the can and sink it in the pond. Check it in a couple days.

You take two pieces of vinyl siding about a foot long and pop rivet the bottom edge together making like a book cover, drill a 1/4″ hole in the top side where you can wire it together and also tie a string for your marker and your set, put your bait in and wire shut, works great, when you check the trap just unwire open up and dump out

The aluminum trap is the best. Looks like an envelope when made correct.

I’ve used the coffee can trick in Canada, except a fish head for bait. Works great!! Fresh healthy leeches all week!
