St. Louis River report 5/10/2009

    Fished the st.louis river this weekend. 1/4 oz jigs with meat worked well also firecracker/ chartreuse tail ringworms took the bigger fish. water temp. was 56 with moderate flow, not all of the fish were done spawning. All fish were C&R for us, we did not keep any.Most fish were 17″ and 18″inches the biggest was 27.5″ and 26″ with a few 23″ mixed in.

    Looks like the number of boats was down from your pictures??

    sunday midday the boats thinned, and there was a good bite for us. also trying to find spots away from the crowds helped.

    I also noticed you were not in snowmobile suits, the wind must not have been coming off the lake… Nice fish, hope you have the chance to get out during the week, that is when it is the best!
