Hats off to John in Scheels service center. Had a cable brake on my minn kota maxxum. Took it over to Scheels for repairs and it took me longer to get my wife out of the mall then it did for John to replace both cables. It’s not often that you can get things like that fixed and back the same day. It was my first trip to Scheels and it won’t be long and I’ll make the trip again. This time without my wife so I can try to pick up some toys without getting in trouble. If anyone needs trolling motor work Scheels is worth the drive. Only an hour and ten min from winona. well worth the trip.

I have had a few problems with my trolling motor and have been satisfied with the service also. Heck I didnt even know we had Minkota service in town until last year….

I will second the motion on Scheels Minnkota service department. About 5 weeks ago I took my Terrova for foot pedal repair, dropped it off thinking a week to turn it around. When I asked they said if they have the parts it may be ready within a couple of hours.
We were doing other business in there store & within 25 minutes we received a call that it was ready to go!!! Now that was awesome!
Would this happen for everyone, I can’t believe they could keep all parts neccessary to repair all motors but I can tell you it was great not having to make another trip to pick it up. Great job guys!!!

I’ve also had great customer service from Eau Claire Scheel’s. Never knew they did Minn Kota repair though, thanks for that! But I have bought several firearms from there and always enjoy the discourse with the gun guys as well as the floor managers. Too bad they took the lay away program away though, it cost them one sale already and likely more. But they gotta do what they feel they gotta do I guess.

I also have enjoyed great service from the Scheels in Eau Claire. The fishing dept. manager, Dwight Schusman, is an IDO member and a regular at Everts. Great guy to chat fishing with!

One of the things I really like about Scheels is their ability to help with special orders. Try getting one of the “other” sporting goods chains to stock or order something special for you. Scheels doesn’t operate that way…..if you want something, just ask, and if it’s available, Dwight will find a way to get it for you.

Did you know that next weekend is Scheels’ Fish Fest?

Here’s a link to some important info: Fish Fest 2009

I plan to swing by on Saturday….hopefully in time for my kids to score a tackle pack. If any of you guys see me there, be sure to introduce yourselves!
