I thought your post made sence considering the opener is in 20 some hours. I have fished for eyes out there but have not had much luck. During ice or open water.

Yeah in the past Ive caught lots of crappies and a couple dozen eyes to date the eyes have been small, though I do know the lake holds some nicer fish. Best luck with the eyes has been related to the weeds, and they all came on plastics, I’ve dragged leeches and minnows without any luck, in the past I was mostly looking for panfish. Prior for me I think is a better walleye lake.

No recent reports the last couple years on spring havent been good for me, and the launch is really shallow for my boat, not sure I can get on the lake right now.

In winter, walleyes have been known to run between deep water in middle of lake and up the break on west side of Thorson’s point. As on other lakes, they will prowl those rocks for preyfish in low light, including windy cloudy softwater days. Look for the W and rock signs on Sybil Smith’s TC Lakes or other good guides at your local bait store. If water is still low on Spring, beware of rocks at launch on south side and GET THERE EARLY tonight.
