I heard somewhere to use locktite when setting your seals in the hubs. Has anyone heard or do this? does it actually make them more water tight? How does it interact with the grease?

    Thanks

It won’t hurt anything. I’ve used silicone glue in the past.

Id go with silicone for one reason if you use loctite you may have a problem getting the seals back out if you need to replace your bearings or repack them.

I don`t see a need for doing this, every grease seal on your vehicle and engine outboard lower unit, does not have Locktite around them the only place a seal leaks is if the seal wears out or gets damaged.

My two cents a waste of time.

Yes they are not supposed to leak but all it takes is a little pitting from corrosion and they can easily laek so your better safe then sorry.
