…hopefully not! He proved in the last 5 games of the season last year that he is no George Blanda! Sign your one day contract with the pack and go away…
The only way that the Vikings will sign him is if they wanna’ sell out the dome and sell THOUSANDS of purple #4 jerseys. Which means he will probably sign as a Viking sad to say… RR
I think favre will be in purple this fall. Chili is going to try anything at this point to keep his job, to do that I think he needs to take the team at the least to the NFC championship game. Although having farve would be interesting, I would rather go with Sage and hope he works out so there would be some consistency at the position.

Does that mean the Madden is going to come back too
After going 8-3 He was sacked and injured his right shoulder and really never rested it or recovered. Without the injury the Jets probably make the playoffs for the 2nd time in 30 years…with a no name team…except the ol man!

Favre jersey burning party at my house if this happens…
THat’s exactly why I am hoping and praying this happens.. Even if he puts up a 5 win season, I don’t care. It’s just such a ginormous dagger to our neighbors to the east.. SOrry, but that’s just how I feel.

I think this actually goes both ways… I know MANY Viking fans that would be eating a lot of “crow” if the Vikes signed Brett Favre… Some from this site even…
Who????
Again, I still don’t think he’s THE best ever. However, he is still better than anyone we have on the roster at the ripe old age of 39. That’s assuming his injury is healed and he’s 100%.
I gotta believe this transaction will happen. ESPN reported this morning a plane load of Viking brass headed out on a private jet somewhere.
Let’s assume that #4 comes to MN. Let’s also assume he leads them to the championship. Who wins that Viking vs. Packer argument. “I can’t believe the packers were so stupid to dump him” vs. “It took OUR QB for you to finally win one”

Oh, I agree..myself included eating crow..but it will be fun either way. I think Viking and Packer fans both need a little something to spice up our 2010 seasons.
I can’t even begin to imagine what the t.v. ratings would be for some of those games…
I bet Madden WOULD also come out of retirement to announce those two games!

Seeing the drama will not go away, I’ll bring this back into it.
Hope it doesn’t happen.
What does he have to prove?? He has all the money he needs, a superbowl ring, most importantly-what is left of his health and many, many fans in GB that have stood beside him, even became Jets fans.
Something royally had to go wrong between him and Ted Thompson for him to be so angry. Unfortunately, in the process of trying to get even with one man, he will be hurting millions. My hope is his vision is not that cloudy-he alone now controls his legacy in Green Bay.
Wearing purple may ruin that—for ALOT longer than he may possibly think.
Do you think Darren Sharper would really be welcomed home with open arms??? What about Longwell????
I know these decisions are based on business, but with the retirement package the Packers offered him the money should have fell in his lap–instead, anger and revenge possibly may ruin it all.
One day Ted Thompson will be gone and forgotten–Brett wearing purple will be the ugly tatoo that just won’t wash off.

I’m sure the NY papers are just as bad as any others, but they have had a few things to say. I’m giving it an 80% chance he will be back. I would say 100% but I would think he would realize that he didn’t get that surgery on his shoulder and it probably won’t magically fix itself.
If he does go to the Vikings, they still won’t win a SB and will set the franchise needing a QB back even further. At least it should finally get chilly fired.

One NFL source insists Brett Favre can’t peacefully retire until he finds a way to get revenge on the Packers. He wants back into the NFC North so he can face the Packers twice. The Bears traded for Jay Cutler and the Lions drafted Matthew Stafford. Hello, Minnesota. “Favre can’t stand Green Bay,” the source said. “He wants to play Green Bay and say, ‘I told you so.’ His bitterness is creating this. I think he’s calling Minnesota. I think Minnesota is talking about this as we speak. You haven’t heard the end of Favre. No way. He is bionic. As long as somebody will let him in, he will play.”

Just spoke to one of my guys and he gave me some behind-the-scenes insight on why the Jets officially released quarterback Brett Favre from the reserve/retired list on Tuesday night. First, following the draft, Favre asked the Jets for his unconditional release for a “second time,” I’m told. If you remember, when he retired last February, Favre and his agent, Bus Cook, denied they had asked the Jets for his official release. But now with Mark Sanchez in the fold, Favre figured he could force the Jets’ hand and gain his release. Secondly, the Jets didn’t want any “Favre drama” hanging over their heads with Sanchez trying to find his way. If Sanchez struggled this summer in training camp, for instance, the club didn’t want the specter of a possible return by Favre hanging over their heads. Sure, the Jets didn’t have to grant Favre his wish, but they had nothing to gain by holding onto him and trying to get some compensation (he cost them a third-round pick) if a team wanted to sign him. They felt a mid-round draft pick (at best) wasn’t worth the headache. Although Favre said in a statement on Tuesday and through his agent again on Wednesday that he has no intention of returning to football next season, his actions — asking for his release from the Jets twice — don’t jive with his words.

Doc…couldn’t have said it better myself. The way he left Green Bay, him calling teams we were going to play, his comments…all could be forgotten over time.
Him playing for a team that both he and his fans hated, to get back at Packer management, will cost him his legacy among most Packer fans. He truly is blinded by anger towards Ted Thompson. He cannot honestly be thinking clearly to shun Packer fans in this manner. Crazy is the only word I can think of actually!! I guess the old saying is true…never say never…
