    If you have ANY smelt runs consider yourself lucky…Northern Green Bay’s once thriving population has been overharvested down to next to nuthin…

    the run is really slow, so slow you’ll catch like anywhere from 4 to 10 fish in an hour. if you stay all night you might get like about 30 fish. thats not that much at all.

    We pulled in Ashland last weekend, came home with about 35 pounds. We seemed to have caught the tail end of the run. Started pullin thursday night around 1am and pulled til sunrise with only a handful caught. Friday night things turned around with all of our catch coming before 2 am. We had a 50 foot and a 40 foot seine being pulled so we really had to work for what we caught. the run should be heating up in the Superior/Duluth area soon. Happy Huntin TA
