Is a group 31 battery overkill for a 12 volt 55 pound minnkota bow mount on a 16ft alum boat? I was told that a group 27 would be plenty, but it’s only ten bucks more to step up to the 31. Also is Nautilous a reputable deep cycle battery? Thanks in advance for info.

I’d go with the 31 series. If you have room you’ll be happy you did it for $10 more. It will keep you on the water longer.

I always go with the biggest battery I can get. Your batterys can make or break a good day of fishing…..

If the 10$ is in your budget, go to the 31. Also, Nautilus is just fine!

enjoy your time on the water.

I have the same set up only i have a wally world battery. It works great i have never had a problem other than it is a beast to carry but the onboard charger cures that problem.
