Lowrance Reading Wrong Depth

I have a Lowrance LX-17 that is not reading the correct depth. It seems to be about 5′ off in about 12′ of water, but seems pretty accurate in less than 6′ of water. I checked the transducer to make sure it was level and it is. Any ideas?

check to see what the keel offset is set at
if its set for 5 feet then your depth will be off by that ammount

Make sure you are set for feet not meters. Do you have the most recent software update?

I have a 520c and the depths start jumping around when half throttle and up. Trans looks good, could the sensitivity be set to high, I thought I heard that once before.
