    Proposed plan to help the economy…

    Sounds like a plan to me.

    This is from an article in the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.

    The Business Section asked readers for ideas on “How Would You Fix the Economy?”

    I think this guy nailed it!

    Dear Mr. President:

    Please find below my suggestion for fixing Americas economy.

    Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

    You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

    There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.

    Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

    1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.

    2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.

    3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

    It can’t get any easier than that!

    If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes…

    If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know.

    Heck, why stop with retirement aged folks? Why not spend another 40 million and extend this offer to fisherman? They are going to blow much more money than this on dumber ideas anyway! Obama could go down in the history books as the best President that ever lived instead of the President that couldn’t speak without a tele-prompter.

    I heard guys in their 50’s say that they could retire if their medical was covered. So to hand out a million a piece sure that should get a few people back to work. I know that it would get me back to work.

    I would go for it BUT!

    If he did the math right it would be $1,000,000 x 40,000,0000=$40,000,000,000,000= 40 trillion dollars

    hookem/MNice you need to recheck the math. 40 million retired each receiving 1 million is 40×1=40 million, NOT trillion. Although even at 40 Trillion we’d be better off then the current plan

    Sorry, but you need to recheck your math…

    (40,000,000) x (1,000,000) = 40,000,000,000,000 = $40 trillion

    If they gave 1 million to 40 people then we’d be talking $40 million .

    Because it is the path of least resistance. My favorite bumper sticker (Thanks Don Miller) is “Spread my work ethic, not my wealth!”
