On and off periods of hard rain since late last night. It has stopped for brief periods but for the most part it has been a steady deal here in MPLS.

The river came up atmost a few inches but the creeks are up around 6″ to 10″. Its been a long slow rain the kind the farmers like that soaks in and dosen’t run off. It clouded the creek that I fish for chubs in and didn’t get a bite, eigther that or the catfish have moved in and the chubs are in real shallow water. Have to see in a few days after it clears up. You guys ought to see the spots on the chubs right now, thier gourgeous, and with the red spot right behind thier eyes, its the most. The black spotting and speckeling are set back into thier pigment but still are very distinct, you’d have to see them, thier a real pretty fish right now and a mouth the size of a largemouth, chubs are a pretty neat fish.

Deluge here (Waterloo) for several, several hours now. Don’t know how much we have had but it has to be 4-8 inches? 10 in areas possibly? Rivers SE of us are going to be real trouble. Watch out Cedar Rapids (Cedar River) and Wapsi River drainage. Coming your way.

AS much rain as we got last spring when it flooded Bigdog?, I hope not. We got around 10″ in 24 hrs when it did last spring.

no they were all very small 1-3inches at the most, for some reason this spot does not produce any large ones-yellow or greys, I’v got others spots that they have not even came up yet.(lack of sun) but they’ll be there. I’ll try to post a pic. this was the only way i could show you, there under my sign. to the left.

I sure wish it would come down here in NE. I would love to go out and pick up another hundred crawlers!
